• Preparation: The Board ensures management drives to build people competencies and that the organization's data is made transformation-ready.

• Clear End: Business goal of the transformation/AI is defined at the outset; clarity on machine learning predictions required; transformation performance metrics agreed upon; benefits realization assessment at board level.

• Do the Work: Agile principles on adequate and dedicated project/program staffing, business ownership, gathering of data for company-specific models, validated prediction model deployment, and regular fit-for-purpose and risk reviews.

• Concrete ROIs — "Build me the business case for this" for high-stakes transformations.

• What metrics should management focus on and how are they planning to measure them?

• If the goal is "user delight and monetize later," insist on an explicit path.

• "Build it and they will come" is not good enough — ask for explicit path and risks.

• Is this investment a scale play and are we trying to achieve measurable, lasting impact?
