ICD’s Corporate Governance Orientation Program (CGOP) is a foundational learning program designed for directors, board members, and senior leaders who seek a clear and practical understanding of corporate governance and effective board service. Anchored on Philippine laws, regulations, and governance reforms, the program also situates local practice within relevant international standards and global best practices.

This 8-hour program begins with an Introduction to Corporate Governance, building participants’ understanding of core governance principles, fiduciary duties, board dynamics, and stewardship, and cultivating the mindset required for governance excellence. The program continues with Effective Corporate Boards, providing guidance on how boards can enhance their effectiveness and performance in line with Philippine regulatory expectations and recognized global practices. The program concludes with Effective Board Committees, which focuses on the proper structure, roles, and behaviors of board committees, emphasizing their role as the “engine of the board” that supports in-depth oversight while preserving the collective accountability of the full board.

By the end of the program, participants will have a solid grounding in corporate governance fundamentals and a clearer appreciation of how boards and board committees function effectively in practice.
