Job Description

The R&D Manager leads the R&D team and oversees the planning, execution, and development of strategic research initiatives and corporate governance programs. This role ensures the quality, coherence, and impact of ICD’s thought leadership content. The position requires a strong blend of leadership, research expertise, course development, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to ICD’s strategic decision making through robust research insights. The R&D Manager is also directly involved in managing digital content, implementing and maintaining digital library systems, and guiding thought leadership to advance ICD’s mission and vision.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, business research, social sciences, psychology). An advanced degree such as a Master's or a Doctorate degree is desirable.


  • 3+ years of experience in leading and managing research and course development teams, preferably in a fast-paced industry or a research agency.


  • Proven expertise in curriculum development and instructional design


  • Proven expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including survey design, data analysis, and statistical techniques.


  • Proficiency in research software, statistical packages, and data visualization tools.

Key Skills

1. Research & Program Development

  • Lead and oversee research initiatives, including primary and secondary research on governance  trends, concept papers, proposals, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with ICD’s strategic  objectives.


  • Identify and collaborate with institutional research partners (e.g., academic institutions, think  tanks, regulators) to strengthen research quality and thought leadership outputs.


  • Support the design, development, and validation of programs, learning pathways, course content,  and course materials, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, governance frameworks, and  ICD learning quality.


  • Support subject matter experts, faculty, program committees, members in creating, updating, and  finalizing course decks, case studies, CG library articles, and supplementary materials.


  • Ensure consistency in instructional design, voice, tone, and overall quality across all research and  program outputs. 


2. Stakeholder Engagement, Secretariat & Project Leadership

  • Serve as the lead liaison and secretariat for the Thought Leadership Committee and the Board  Diversity & Inclusion Committee, coordinating meetings, outputs, special projects, and follow-ups  to ensure timely delivery and alignment with ICD’s mission.


  • Manage communication and coordination with institutional partners, regulatory bodies, and  governance networks; prepare strategic talking points, position papers, and internal briefings for  executives and board use. 


  • Oversee R&D-led projects, CG Library, publications, and faculty events, monitoring progress,  budgets, and reporting deliverables, and representing ICD in external forums and internal  briefings.
