For the women on the boards and in C-suite roles, navigating the communication disparities between men and women is a necessary skill set that requires systems thinking. This forum focuses on the advancement of mastering boardroom communication for women directors. Participants will also gain a diverse perspective of how board diversity and inclusion are reshaping the Philippine business landscape.

 

With the Philippines achieving an overall gender parity score of 78.1%, ranking 20th out of 148 countries on the World Economic Forum’s 2025 Global Gender Gap Report, and a parity level of 80% in the Economic Participation and Opportunity subindex, the country's economy on a surface level is inclusive in terms of gender.

 

Despite the progressive reality of women's economic participation and opportunity, the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) reported in 2023 that the actual average ratio of female and male directors for all PLCs is 17:83 in 2019, 18:82 in 2020, and 19:81 in 2021. Meanwhile, approximately 8, 20, and 30 female directors in PLCs were elected in 2019, 2020, and 2021, respectively. Still underrepresented despite substantial growth.
