CG NPO v4.png
Corporate Governance for Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs)

Participation in this course meets the recommended best practices for continuing directors education prescribed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Nonprofit organizations in the Philippines play a vital role in augmenting- and, at times, even taking the place of - essential government services for vulnerable communities as well advocating policies for social change. Since most of these are required to adopt a corporate structure, they are governed by boards of directors.

However, many of these boards and the directors who serve on them fail to maximize their contribution to these organizations' mission because of

(i) a lack of appreciation for their fiduciary roles and responsibilities and

(ii) the use of inefficient or outdated board processes.

What will I learn from this course?
  • Differences in Corporate Governance between for-profit corporations and NPOs

  • Laws and regulations that NPO directors should be aware of

  • Purpose, Strategy, and Strategy Execution

  • Finance for NPO directors

  • HR Capital – talent acquisition, retention, development

  • Fund Raising

  • Corporate Foundations
