Institute of Corporate Directors Honors Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo as Honorary Fellow

30 November 2023 – The Institute of Corporate Directors has proudly inducted Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo as an Honorary Fellow, recognizing her notable contributions in the fields of auditing, accounting, and consulting, her pivotal roles, visionary and purposeful leadership in various professional and business organizations, and unwavering commitment to promoting good corporate governance and ethical behavior.

Mrs. Cora's journey has been defined by groundbreaking achievements, including becoming the first woman and foreigner to secure the top position in a training program at Price Waterhouse & Co. in New York City. From being the first woman partner in Joaquin Cunanan & Co./Price Waterhouse to her historic term as President & CEO of the Social Security System, where she extended the fund's actuarial life, Mrs. Cora has left an indelible mark. Expressing enthusiasm for collaborating with the ICD in fulfilling its mission, Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo closed her speech with a call to collective action, stating, "Let’s all work together for a more progressive Philippines."

As she takes her place as an Honorary Fellow of the ICD, Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo becomes the institution's first female recipient of this esteemed title.

The Honorary Fellow is the highest conferment that the Institute bestows. Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo now joins the distinguished roster of ICD’s Honorary Fellows including Amb. Jose “Joey” L. Cuisia, Dr. Cesar G. Saldaña, BSP former Gov. Amando M. Tetangco Jr., Mr. Antonino T. Aquino, Mr. Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, and Dr. Justo A. Ortiz. These Honorary Fellows are distinguished by their professional excellence, significant contributions to their industries and the country, and their unwavering commitment to ethical standards and governance reform.
